ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 24, 2015)  – Colliers International Central Florida is pleased to announce that Cynthia Shelton, CCIM, CRE, Director of Investment Sales, has received the 2015 Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). Shelton was selected from the association’s more than 1 million members and presented with the award at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Diego.

“We are extremely proud of Cynthia and all that she has accomplished during her more than 40 years in the commercial real estate industry,” said Ryan Kratz, President of Colliers International Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Southwest Florida. “I know I speak for the entire team in congratulating Cynthia on receiving this prestigious award.”

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes Realtors who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and who serve as leaders in their local communities. It is considered the highest honor an NAR member can receive.

As Director of Investment Sales for Colliers International Central Florida, Shelton provides acquisition and disposition services to private and institutional clients, and works with special servicers and lenders with workouts of distressed properties.

She is an active member of NAR on the local and national level and has served the organization in a number of roles, including President of Florida Realtors®, Regional Vice President, Liaison to the President, Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of several NAR committees. In addition, Shelton is past president of The CCIM Institute, an institutional affiliate of NAR. She currently serves as the 2015 NAR committee liaison for Second Century Ventures and special projects.

“It’s an honor to be recognized with such a prestigious award,” said Shelton. “I’m proud to be a member of the Realtor family and to have the opportunity to help guide clients in finding properties that meet their needs and drive economic growth in the local community.”

Shelton was named Realtor® of the Year in Florida in 2010 and has been inducted into the Realtors® Political Action Committee Hall of Fame.
